Our Bio-optimisation frequency wellness program includes these essential fatty acids in our nutrients protocol

Alpha-Linolenic Acid (ALA)

The Parent Omega-3. As a strictly essential fat, the body cannot synthesize ALA; it must be imported. Once inside, it serves as the raw starting material for the production of EPA and DHA. It is a critical energy source for the heart and a primary protector of the skin’s moisture barrier. It Prevents Dry, flaky skin and is a foundation of heart health.

Linoleic Acid (LA)

The Parent Omega-6. This is the structural backbone of the skin’s ceramides. It ensures the integrity of every cell membrane in the body. Necessary for growth and repair strengthening the skin barrier and healthy cellular structural integrity.

Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA)

The Systemic Fire Extinguisher. EPA works by displacing pro-inflammatory fats in the cell membranes. It is the direct precursor to Resolvins, the specialized molecules that physically signal your immune system to stand down after an injury or bout of stress. It prevents joint creakiness, chronic redness, and cardiovascular strain.

Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA)

The Neural Architect. DHA is the primary structural component of the human brain and the retina of the eye. It provides Membrane Fluidity, making cell walls flexible so that electrical signals (thoughts and muscle commands) can jump from cell to cell at maximum velocity. Heals & prevents brain fog, poor memory, and digital eye strain.

Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA)

The Anti-Inflammatory Omega-6. Unlike most Omega-6s, GLA skips the inflammatory pathways and moves straight toward soothing the system. It is famous for its role in Metabolic Shunting, where it forces the body to produce anti-inflammatory prostaglandins. Heals & prevents hormonal swings, skin flare-ups (acne/eczema), and PMS discomfort.

Dihomo-Gamma-Linolenic Acid (DGLA)

The Peacekeeper Metabolite. This is what GLA becomes once it’s processed by the body. DGLA acts as a competitive inhibitor; it physically blocks inflammatory enzymes from doing damage, acting as a natural buffer for the arterial walls and joints. Ensures, smooth blood flow and long-term joint mobility.

Arachidonic Acid (ARA)

The Recovery Trigger. ARA is the First Responder. It is essential for the brain’s signaling architecture and is the primary fat required to trigger muscle protein synthesis after a workout. Without it, you cannot repair or grow. Heals & prevents effects of poor exercise recovery and stalled muscle growth.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids (General)

The Global Regulators. This family of fats manages the body’s internal thermostat. They lower the stickiness of the blood (platelet aggregation) and ensure the heart maintains a steady, rhythmic beat under pressure. Heals & prevents high blood pressure and erratic heart rate variability (HRV).

High-Potency Purified Omega-3s (Ethyl Esters)

The Concentrated Cleanse. They provide a massive dose-response, specifically targeted at flushing excess triglycerides (fats) out of the bloodstream. Heals & prevents high triglycerides and sluggish lipid metabolism supporting artery, heart health and weight management.

🛰️ THE NEURAL & SENSORY SYSTEM

Brain Speed, Memory & Vision. Data Transmission and Structural Fluidity. This system is about the speed of thought. Your brain is roughly 60% fat; this protocol ensures that the fat is high-quality “hardware” rather than stagnant storage.

  • DHA (Doconexent): Think of this as the Lubricant of Logic. By embedding into the cell membranes of your neurons, it increases Membrane Fluidity. This allows neurotransmitters like Dopamine and Serotonin to dock into their receptors faster. If DHA is low, the membrane becomes stiff, and your brain has to work twice as hard to send the same signal.
  • ALA (Alpha-Linolenic Acid): This is the External Sensor Support. While it acts as a precursor, its primary systemic job is maintaining the Permeability Barrier of your skin and eyes. It ensures that your first line of defense (your skin) and your primary input (your eyes) are hydrated enough to process environmental data without irritation.
  • Arachidonic Acid (ARA): The Synaptic Architect. In the brain, ARA is a Retrograde Messenger. It helps the receiving neuron talk back to the sending neuron, a process called Long-Term Potentiation. This is the physical mechanism of learning and memory storage.

🔥 THE INFLAMMATION COMMAND SYSTEM

Recovery & Joint Mobility, The Switch from Defense to Repair. This system is about Metabolic Redirection. It’s not just about stopping pain; it’s about physically changing the chemical signals your body produces.

  • EPA (Icosapent): The Signal Interrupter. EPA competes with pro-inflammatory fats for the same enzymes (COX and LOX). When EPA wins that race, your body produces Resolvins instead of Prostaglandins. You aren’t just numbing pain; you are forcing the body to produce a chemical all-clear signal that tells white blood cells to stop attacking and start repairing.
  • GLA & DGLA: These are the Metabolic Shunts. By increasing GLA, you create a “detour” that forces the body to produce Prostaglandin E1 (PGE1). PGE1 is a powerful vasodilator that relaxes blood vessels and soothes the smooth muscle tissue in the gut and reproductive organs.
  • Linoleic Acid (LA): The Structural Sealant. LA’s systemic role is to create the Ceramide Matrix. Think of this as the mortar between the bricks of your cells. It prevents Leaky Cell syndrome, where inflammatory markers can slip into areas they don’t belong.

🌀 THE METABOLIC FLOW SYSTEM

Heart Rhythm & Blood Quality, Viscosity, Hydrodynamics, and Arterial Scrubbing. This system treats your blood like a Precision Fluid. It ensures your plumbing is slick and your pump (the heart) isn’t struggling against sludge.

  • High-Potency Ethyl Esters: The Lipid Scrubber. These are engineered to have a high affinity for VLDL (Very Low-Density Lipoprotein). They act like a molecular magnet that tells the liver to stop shipping out triglycerides. This effectively thins the sludge in your blood, allowing for higher oxygen delivery to your extremities resulting in good circulation and the end of numb hands and feet.
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids (General): The Electric Stabilizer. Every heartbeat is an electrical event. These fats embed into the heart’s Pacemaker Cells (the SA Node), stabilizing the electrical charge. This prevents micro-arrhythmias and improves your Heart Rate Variability (HRV)—the gold standard metric for how well your body handles stress.

🦵 THE NEUROMUSCULAR RECOVERY SYSTEM

End Muscle Cramping & Spasms. Contractile Fluidity and Electrolyte Signaling. This system is designed to stop the Short-Circuiting of your muscles. A cramp is essentially a muscle that has the energy to contract but lacks the resources to relax. This protocol ensures the off-switch is always functional.

  • Magnesium Malate (The Structural Un-Locker): Malate is the primary driver of ATP (energy) regeneration within the muscle tissue. Since a muscle requires energy to release a contraction, Malate provides the fuel necessary to prevent the muscle from getting stuck in a painful, locked state. It is the gold standard for preventing heavy limb syndrome and chronic night cramps.
  • Magnesium Chloride (The Ionic Rapid-Response): Because it breaks down into its ionic form faster than other salts, Chloride is the fastest way to restore the electrical membrane potential of a muscle cell. It acts as an emergency stabilizer for the electrolytes sitting on the surface of your muscles, making it the best defense against acute, sharp spasms during or after a workout.
  • Taurine (The Twitch Stabilizer): Taurine acts as a Voltage Buffer. It regulates the flow of Calcium and Potassium—the minerals that tell a muscle when to fire. By stabilizing these ion channels, Taurine prevents the involuntary micro-twitches and fasciculations that usually precede a full-blown cramp.
  • Magnesium Glycinate (The Sleep-Cramp Buffer): Many cramps are triggered by a hyper-active nervous system during rest. Glycinate lowers the systemic “stress floor,” allowing the muscles to reach a state of full neurological tonus (complete relaxation) during the night.

Most people think a muscle cramp is a sign of overwork. In reality, it’s a sign of Metabolic Gridlock. Your muscle has used up its Magnesium off-switch and can no longer pump Calcium out of the cell. By utilizing the Neuromuscular Recovery System, you are providing the key that unlocks that gridlock, allowing your fibers to slide back into a relaxed state instantly.

The Insight:

DHA is about flexibility

(Brain/Eyes).

EPA is about instruction

(telling the body to stop the fire).

GLA is about rerouting

(moving from stress to calm).

Ethyl Esters are about volume control

(flushing out the excess).
